There couldn’t be a more fitting bowl for Tennessee vs. Clemson than the Orange Bowl.
That is a whole lot of orange.
This is a New Year’s Six bowl matchup between two teams that had College Football Playoff aspirations. Both schools sat inside the top four of the CFP rankings at some point this season.
They aren’t playing for a National Championship, but this is still a massive game for both schools to close out their respective seasons.
Clemson went 11-2 this season after a win in the ACC Championship game. That would be an incredible season for most schools but not Clemson, where they expect to play in the College Football Playoff every year.
Tennessee went 10-2, but at one point in the season, it looked like it was going to be a dream year for the Vols. They beat Alabama in overtime and were regarded as one of the top teams in college football. Some injuries, including a significant injury to starting quarterback Hendon Hooker, led to some stumbling down the stretch.
There is nothing that rhymes with orange, but edge is pretty close, and we’ve found one in this game using our PRO projections.
Clemson vs. Tennessee Pick
The total in this game opened at 64. It held there for most of the days leading into the game, but it has started to fall on Friday.
It’s currently around 60.5 and 61 on most sportsbooks.
Our projections set the Pro line at 63.8. The consensus is currently 61, but that number is quickly falling. Currently, there’s a 4% edge towards the over. If the number continues to fall, the edge will continue to grow.
