Justin Fields finally had the ceiling game we all knew he had in him, rushing for 178 yards and a score while also chipping in three passing TDs. He should keep it rolling against a pathetic Lions defense. Also, Fields’ passing production will be boosted the rest of the season as Chase Claypool gets more involved in the offense. Fields is a top-five option for Week 10.

Tier 4 is the massive sit/start/streamer tier that is tougher to sort out earlier in the week. By Sunday, we should have a clearer sense as to which QBs in this range we should be starting. Daniel Jones was my top pick as a streaming option this week with a cupcake matchup against the Texans. Trevor Lawrence will likely need to air it out this week as the Jaguars try to keep up with the Chiefs. He offers a higher ceiling than usual that if you are a bigger underdog this week, you may want to tap into.

Matthew Stafford is in concussion protocol, Sean McVay announced on Wednesday. I’m projecting Stafford to play right now, but that would obviously affect the entire Rams offense.

P.J. Walker can’t be trusted as a QB2 option right now, considering he is at risk for an in-game benching for Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold at any given time going forward. The Colts fired Frank Reich and replaced him with Jeff Saturday, which likely means they are in full-on tank mode. Who knows, they may let Sam Ehlinger play YOLO ball the rest of the season and he could finally tap into his true upside. For now, Ehlinger is nothing but a high-risk/reward QB2 option in 2QB/Superflex leagues until we finally see a complete game from him.

Jamaal Williams should be able to provide RB2 value as long as D’Andre Swift remains limited. He has a plus matchup this week against a Bears defense that ranks 28th in DVOA against the run. Williams’ rank will drop a bit if Dan Campbell makes clear that Swift’s snap count will increase significantly this week.

James Conner returned from his rib injury last week and inherited his full-time role. He was only able to log seven carries for 45 yards, but it was his receiving usage that was a pleasant surprise. I thought there was a chance Eno Benjamin would eat into his receiving usage, but Conner ended up running a route on 66% of Kyler Murray’s dropbacks, which was a season-high. It led him to five catches for 19 yards and will go a long way for Conner to be game script proof going forward. He’s in the mid/low-end RB2 range this week against the Rams.

J.D. McKissic was out last week and yet, Antonio Gibson had one of his lowest receiving outputs of the season. Make it make sense. In fact, if it weren’t for a gimmie 10-yard catch to end the game, he would have finished with a 1/1/0 receiving line. If McKissic is out again this week, I expect Gibson to actually cash in on the added opportunity this week with he Commanders likely trailing against the Eagles for much of the game. Gibson gets a boost in PPR formats.

Jeffery Wilson and Raheem Mostert formed a near even RBBC in Wilson’s debut. This was a very positive development for Wilson and a negative one for Mostert. One thing to keep in mind is the Dolphins coaching staff’s run scheme comes from the 49ers, so we should expect a fairly volatile, yet fantasy-friendly situation that could chance week-to-week. For now, I view both backs in the RB3/Flex range and they each carry RB2 upside if either one of them were to dominate snaps that week and/or the other gets hurt. This is still a situation I want to remain invested in, even if it’s a frustrating one in the short term.

The Rams running back situation is a total disaster right now, but Darrell Henderson remains the top back to stash right now. We can’t trust him as anything other than a dicey RB3/Flex option on a heavy BYE week, but down the stretch he could become more of a RB2/3 option if he were to consistently see 10-15 touches a game. Rookie Kyren Williams is potentially going to make his debut very soon and he could be a sneaky flier in deeper leagues. He was more of a pass-catching specialist at Notre Dame, so there is a chance he inherits the third-down role that the Rams seem to be looking for someone to fill.

I’m projecting the Bills with the assumption that Case Keenum gets the Week 10 start. Stefon Diggs remains as a solid WR1 option as he will likely be the focal point of the passing attack. He and Keenum already have chemistry from their 2017 season with the Vikings. This will be a dual revenge game for those two, and I still like Diggs as a WR1 option.

Gabe Davis, unfortunately, takes a massive hit with Keenum under center. Davis relies on Josh Allen’s unbridled desire to push the ball downfield, and it’s unlikely Keenum will be slinging it around like Allen. Davis is more of a dicey WR4 option who could still catch a deep pass or two from Keenum, but his chances of having a floor game are much greater this week.

Donovan Peoples-Jones has established a solid weekly floor as he has now caught 4+ passes in five straight games. My current rank assumes David Njoku will remain out another week. Jacoby Brissett doesn’t spread the ball around, which allows the passing attack to be heavily concentrated between Amari Cooper and Peoples-Jones. This week, the Browns will likely be a bit more pass heavy against a Dolphins defense that ranks 31st in DVOA against the pass. Peoples-Jones is a player who should only see his value go up later in the season once Deshaun Watson returns from his suspension.

Brandon Aiyuk went off for 6/81/1 against the Rams in Week 8, but we have to remember that both Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings were both out that week. Both are likely to return following the bye week, so Aiyuk will likely see his target share take a big hit, especially considering the 49ers now have a RB that commands a ton of targets in Chrisitan McCaffery. Aiyuk is more of a low-end WR3/4 option this week in a game where the 49ers will likely lean more on their running game.

Robbie Anderson operated as the true No. 3 wide receiver for the first time as a Cardinal last week, running a route on 86% of Kyler Murray’s drop backs. He didn’t do much with the opportunity, catching one pass for minus-4 yards on three targets. However, Anderson is always a dormant volcano who could erupt any given week. If you are a huge underdog this week and desperate for upside in deeper leagues, he may be a decent flier. I view Anderson much more as a flier in DFS tournaments this week.

T.J. Hockenson hit the ground running with his new team and was able to post a massive 9/70/0 receiving line while running a route on 84% of Kirk Cousins’ dropbacks. He will only get more comfortable in this offense and with Cousins as the season goes on. His stock went way up after his Vikings debut.

I pondered that Greg Dulcich carried top-five upside a few weeks ago and even said that he gives me Hockenson vibes. Well, here we are with Dulcich ranked alongside Hockenson inside the top five!

Tier 4 is the massive TE1/2/streamer tier this week. George Kittle’s rank is a bit lower this week as the 49ers will likely have a more run heavy game script and having a RB like CMC who commands a lot of targets is going to eat into Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle’s target share a bit. If you have Kittle you can still start him with confidence this week, I would just lower expectations a bit.

Dalton Schultz has been struggling to play through a PCL injury and hasn’t topped a 70% routes run rate since Week 4, but he could get back to that level this week considering his PCL could be closer to 100% following the Cowboys’ Week 9 bye.

Noah Fant and Cole Kmet are both coming off huge weeks, but their underlying usage will keep them in the TE2 range going forward. Fant typically runs a route 55-60% of the time and would need to top 70% for him to offer TE1 upside. Kmet’s upside is capped by the Bears’ run-heavy approach. He would need Justin Fields to be projected for 200+ passing yards in order to pop up as a TE1 option in my model. I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
