College Football Odds, Picks Week 4: Clemson vs. Wake Forest, Florida vs. Tennessee Lead Sharpest Early Bets

You know that they say about sports betting (probably): “There’s no rest for the weary, especially following NFL Monday Night Football doubleheaders.”

An epic weekend of football betting was capped off with two Monday Night Football matchups, capturing the attention of most bettors even more than normal Monday nights.

However, while many of you were singularly-focused on Titans vs. Bills and Vikings vs. Eagles on Monday, college football Week 4 odds were open for business and wiseguys took full advantage.

So in case you haven’t had the time to give college football odds for Week 4 your attention, I’ve leveraged Action Labs’ Bet Signals data to identify four bets that sharps are already making, including:

  • No. 7 Clemson vs. No. 21 Wake Forest
  • No. 20 Florida vs. No. 11 Tennessee
  • Hawaii vs. New Mexico State
  • Western Michigan vs. San Jose State

College Football Picks for Week 4

*Odds as of Tuesday morning

Clemson vs. Wake Forest Pick

Noon ET | ABC

This has quietly become a huge matchup in the ACC, and Clemson vs. Wake Forest odds movement has also been very interesting early in Week 4.

The Tigers opened as 8.5-point road favorites over the Demon Deacons, yet pro bettors have already taken a market-moving position on Wake Forest.

Smart money has pushed this spread down to between +7 and +7.5, depending on the sportsbook, confirming that oddsmakers are heavy with Wake Forest money to this point.

Because seven is so important in football betting, it’s crucial to shop for the best line if you plan on pouncing on the Demon Deacons as well.

For example, BetMGM and FanDuel are offering Wake Forest at +7.5 (-115).

Don’t settle for a bad number when there’s free line value ripe for the picking.

Pick: Wake Forest +7.5 (-115)

Florida vs. Tennessee Pick

3:30 p.m. ET | CBS

A huge, early-season matchup between two ranked teams with extremely noteworthy odds movement, you say?

Let me introduce you to Florida vs. Tennessee, which may be even more intriguing from a betting perspective than Clemson vs. Wake Forest above.

The Vols hit the market at -7.5 against the Gators earlier this week and sharps fell over themselves getting down on Tennessee in this key SEC East matchup.

Action Labs’ Bet Signals have tracked three Steam Moves on Tennessee, specifically citing three examples in which market-moving action from respected bettors came in on the Vols and forced oddsmakers to react by adjusting this line to -11.

And just like Clemson vs. Wake Forest, there is some variance across the market, so visit the Action Network’s College Football Live Odds Page to find one of the shops still at -10.5, like BetMGM.

Pick: Tennessee -10.5

Hawaii vs. New Mexico State Pick

8 p.m. ET | FloSports

When it comes to college football odds movement alone, Hawaii vs. New Mexico State could be the most crucial, in terms of value, of the Week 4 slate.

The Aggies initially hit the market at -1.5, a number that has blitzed up to between -4.5 and -5 as of the time of writing.

Wiseguys have steamed New Mexico State four times per Action Labs’ Bet Signals, helping to explain why this spread has pushed through -3 and -4 as of Tuesday morning.

Pick: New Mexico State -4.5

Western Michigan vs. San Jose State Pick

10:30 p.m. ET | CBS Sports

Western Michigan vs. San Jose State odds movement fits a similar template to Hawaii vs. New Mexico State.

Sharp action? Yup. Wiseguys pouncing on the favorite? Yup. Oddsmakers adjust aggressively through key numbers? Yup.

In this instance, respected bettors have steamed the Spartans twice, driving the spread from -3 to -6.5 across the market.

Pick: San Jose State -6.5
