There are no sports being played on March 28, 2020. There were, however, sports being played on this date last year.
And in 2018. And in 2017. And … you get it.
With nothing to bet on during this pandemic period, let’s to take a trip down memory lane and relive the best sports betting moments on this date in history.
March 28, 2019: Purdue vs. Tennessee, Sweet 16
- Spread: Tennessee -1.5
- Over/Under:Β 147.5
Tennessee opens at -1 and gets bet up to -1.5 by tip-off, and Vols bettors are unhappy for much of the game.
Purdue goes up 51-33 early in the second half before a 32-14 run from Tennessee over the next 10 minutes ties the game up at 65. Another 17 points are scored apiece, sending the game to overtime tied at 82.

Purdue regains control in the extra period, however, and hangs on to avoid a brutal beat, winning by a final of 99-94.
March 28, 1992: Kentucky vs. Duke, Elite Eight
- Spread: Duke -7.5
In arguably the best college basketball game of all time, No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Kentucky need overtime to determine who’ll represent the East region in the Final Four.
The Blue Devils are down by a point with just 2.1 seconds left and they’ll have to go the full length of the floor.
Which is when this happens:

Laettner’s shot obviously sends Duke on their way to the Final Four, and ultimately a national championship, but the spread in this game never really comes into play with Kentucky easily covering at +7.5.
