Updated 2020 Daytona 500 Odds: Busch, Hamlin Favored Heading Into Thursday’s Duel Races

Qualifying for the 2020 Daytona 500 is in the books, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (pole) and Alex Bowman (second) locking in the front row for Sunday’s race. However, while all other drivers made laps in qualifying as well, those times will not set starting positions for the rest of the Daytona 500 field.

Instead, tonight’s Bluegreen Vacations Duel races determine starting positions 3-40.

Heading into Sunday’s time trials, Team Penske drivers Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski were co-favorites to win the Great American Race at +1000 odds. However, a pair of Joe Gibbs Racing drivers, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, are the new co-favorites at +1000.

Logano and Keselowski have slipped to +1100, joined by Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott. Kevin Harvick follows at +1200, with Martin Truex Jr. just behind at +1300.

Updated Daytona 500 Odds, Qualifying Betting Notes

In his final full-time NASCAR Cup Series season, seven-time series champion and two-time Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson remains at +2000.

Interestingly, odds for polesitter Stenhouse and second-place starter Bowman didn’t budge despite both locking in front-row starting spots, showing just how little qualifying truly means at superspeedway races like the Daytona 500.

After initially improving, Matt DiBenedetto has fallen from +2000 to +3300.

Rookie of The Year candidate Christopher Bell has also seen a decrease in odds, joining DiBenedetto at +3300.
