After winning just one game the previous two seasons, the Cleveland Browns are 5-7-1 and dare I say … exciting?
With young talent all over the roster, Cleveland appears to be on the upswing and has rewarded bettors along the way, posting an 8-5 record against the spread (ATS) heading into its Week 15 matchup with the Denver Broncos.
Oddsmakers opened the Broncos as 3-point home favorites over the Browns and betting action appears to be a 50-50 split as of writing (see live data here).
However, The Action Network’s public betting data reveals that the majority of money has actually come in on the Browns.
Cleveland is garnering 75% of dollars wagered on this spread as of writing, revealing that while overall tickets are split, the bigger bets are backing Baker Mayfield.
The market has reacted by moving the line off the key number of 3 and down to 2.5, which is an important indicator that sportsbooks are in fact heavy with Browns money and attempting to offset that liability by offering the Broncos at the attractive price of -2.5 for the first time all week.
With the line now at 2.5, it’ll be interesting to monitor whether Denver money shows up to buy this number back.
