WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder stalks lineal Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury Favored in Potential Rematch with Deontay Wilder

Boxing can be excruciatingly inconclusive and it often happens at the worst times in the biggest fights. On Saturday night, WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder,  and former unified heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, put on an exciting fight that ended in confusion and controversy.

In the eyes of many, Fury technically out-boxed Wilder for a majority of the fight, but the champion landed stunning knockdowns in ninth and 12th rounds, which apparently made the fight tough to score.

While neither the fighters nor the fans were particularly happy about the outcome, seemingly everyone involved is open to a rematch.

Oddsmakers at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook have posted odds on a potential rematch and Tyson Fury is a -120 favorite over Wilder (+100). Fury was an underdog in the first scrap as a challenger who’s last championship level fight was almost three years to the day of this bout.

As for Wilder, he maintains the WBC title but will certainly be motivated to prove the two knockdowns weren’t a fluke. Fans will likely have to wait at least until 2019 for any sort of conclusion.
