Where to Bet on Sports in Pennsylvania

In November 2018, Pennsylvania became the fifth state outside of Nevada to go live with legal sports betting. Pennsylvania law allows betting at casinos (upon approval), along with online and mobile betting.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course was the first sportsbook to begin accepting wagers on Nov. 16, 2018. Hollywood Casino is affiliated with William Hill.

Sports betting is expected to explode in Pennsylvania in late 2018 and early 2019. Currently five casinos have applied for a sports betting license. All are expected to go live in December 2018 and January 2019. They include Parx Casino in Bensalem, SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester, Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh and Valley Forge Casino Resort in Prussia.

Valley Forge has partnered with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Several other casinos could join in on the fun in 2019, including:

  • Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin
  • The Meadows Racetrack and Casino
  • Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs
  • Mount Airy Casino Resort
  • Presque Isle Downs and Casino
  • Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem
