Mitchell Trubisky Injury Having Little Effect on Bears-Lions Betting Odds

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was listed as DNP on the team’s Monday injury report due to a shoulder injury.

While Chicago didn’t actually practice on Monday due to the short turnaround for Thursday’s game against the Lions (12:30 p.m. ET, CBS), injuries to starting quarterbacks are noteworthy nonetheless.

Bears fans may be a little nervous to see Trubisky pop up on the team’s injury report, but sportsbooks have shown very little concern regarding his status for Thanksgiving Day.

Chicago is a 4-point favorite at Detroit across the betting market. If Trubisky’s status was truly in question in the eyes of oddsmakers, this line would already be off the board.

However, the fact that books are still taking bets means they fully expect Trubisky to play, especially at the current price.

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook opened the Bears as 3.5-point favorites last week in its Week 12 lookahead lines, so a market consensus of Bears -4 is a clear signal that oddsmakers project Trubisky to be under center against the Lions.

Should Trubisky miss Thursday’s game, backup Chase Daniel would likely start for the Bears.
