While today’s MLB weather forecast includes a couple of games that may end up being a washout (CIN and ATL games to be specific), I’m focusing on a game where the weather should be good enough to play baseball, but bad enough to limit HRs.

Temperatures are cool in St. Louis, and winds are blowing in from dead center at around 10 mph. Combine those factors with light rain lingering that could even further limit how well a ball carries, and home runs should be at a premium today.
In an admittedly small sample size of similar weather games, we’ve seen a 45% decrease in HRs and a 22% decrease in runs scored. While those numbers may be somewhat inflated by the small sample size, the idea is sound; this is not run scoring weather. I’m in favor of under 8 runs here (some books still have 8.5).
